I have been lucky enough to stay at this magical house twice now, and it truly is the most beautifully quiet and peaceful place I have ever been. Sitting right on the coast, you are greeted with the most incredible views over Brother’s Point. There is so much to do and explore around the area – we spent our days swimming, walking, eating fresh fish and playing games. It really is impossible to get bored here! My only wish is that we could have stayed longer! The house and bothy are fully equipped and have everything you could need. Somehow, it has its own climate too, and we had absolutely perfect weather both times we stayed there! There aren’t enough words to describe how special this place is.

The magic of the Isle of Skye is made even more special by the beauty and location of this house. What makes this home so unique are the views which are second to none. Expansive blue seas, rugged cliffs and surrounded by more sheep than you can shake a stick at.

But the house itself truly steals the show. Every room has been thoughtfully designed with gorgeous interiors. The cosy kitchen quickly became the heart of our stay, especially the beautiful window seat where mornings were spent with coffee, watching the ever-changing Skye landscape unfold outside. The artist’s outhouse is another absolute gem — a stunning, peaceful space full of character and creativity that perfectly captures the spirit of the island.

I have been so lucky to make so many wonderful memories here with friends over the years, sharing meals, long conversations, laughter and unforgettable sunsets. It’s a place that brings people together and creates the kind of moments that stay with you long after you leave.

The location couldn’t be better either, with some of Skye’s most iconic sights, including Old Man of Storr and Quiraing walks just a short drive away.

Quite simply, Half of One is a magical place. Beautiful, peaceful and unforgettable in every way. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our first time on the Isle of Skye and we are hooked. Half of One is the most wonderful house with such an interesting history. It is beautifully done and very easy to get up and running once you walk through the door. Emma (host) really has thought of everything you could possibly need. There are lots of cosy corners to hunker down in and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The views from the house and the skies are out of this world. It is also very handy for Portree. Definitely on my wish list to go again.

Half of One was truly a unique place to stay. It’s all about the view with this home and that was amazing. We also really enjoyed the easy access to hiking at Brother’s point. We used the kitchen quite a bit for our family of 6 but we also had great dining options within a 15-30 minute drive. Our family had plenty of room to spread out throughout the home and the laundry room was a huge plus.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again sometime!
