If only I were a poet I could then convey the words to describe our two week stay in Half of One.

Safely and securely nestled into the hill side whilst at the same time soaring over the waters of The Minch with breathtaking views of the ever changing landscape, sea and sky and the top of Scotland in the distance the Croft is simply the most heavenly home one could ever dream of.

For Emma, James and their family to share this magical and much loved retreat is quite something. What a privilege it has been to envelop ourselves in such a place.

As for Skye itself, breathtaking, awe inspiring, captivating, a thousand paintings. It gave us bright sunny days, star and moon lit nights, calm, storms, rain, hail and a carpet of snow as the finale of our time there. And the colours, the colours………

Sublime.

Half of One is truly a special place, offering a perfect getaway for my partner and me, as well as my family who traveled all the way from the USA. We stayed in the charming little cabin, while my mom, brother, his wife, and my niece enjoyed the main house. The property boasts absolutely magnificent views that made our stay even more memorable. One of the features we especially loved was the fenced and gated property. It provided a sense of privacy, ensuring we weren’t disturbed by hikers or the sheep. This also allowed us to let our dog run freely in the garden without worrying about the sheep, which was a big plus for us. The amenities provided met all our needs, though we encountered a minor issue with the washer and a broken handle/latch. The cabin itself was incredibly comfortable. The overall experience was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend Half of One for your Skye retreat.

House is a gem. It is very well appointed yet rustic at the same time, to match with the surroundings. Views are incredible. Wish we had more days there to be honest. I am missing waking up to the sound of the sheep. All communication was excellent. I was contacted the same day of our departure to let us know my daughter forgot her plush bunny and it was emailed it back to us. If available, book it.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The house was amazing and the view was just spectacular. The kitchen was very well appointed, probably the most well appointed kitchen we have ever stayed at. They even had plastic dishes for our 3 yr old. I loved all the local artwork. The living room was so cozy to sit in every evening. I loved the window seat in the kitchen and would sit there in the mornings to drink my coffee. Our family enjoyed hiking to Brother’s Point, directly from the home. This was definitely one of the top homes we have ever stayed in, when you combine the how great the home was with the amazing views. We would definitely return in a heartbeat and I hope that some day we are able to

The views are the highlight from this beautiful, secluded holiday home. Large, comfortable and thoughtfully furnished for a bigger family group (3 adults and 4 children in our case), and perfectly located for exploring this corner of Skye. We spotted a seal at the beach and seabirds and even a pod of dolphins passing the nearby Brothers Point from the telescope (although I gather this is unusual!). We were spoilt by the weather but the house also well stocked for cosy evenings in taking refuge from the weather. There are plenty of personal touches too reflecting that this has been a much loved family home.

My Family and I loved staying at this warm, peaceful and inviting home. The views are amazing. We loved taking walks to the ocean and enjoyed the sweet neighbourhood sheep on the way. Thank you for offering your home and being a wonderful host. This will be a great family memory for us.

What an unbelievable stay on the Isle of Skye! The house itself is brilliantly located on the north of the island (only 20 minutes drive to Portree). We arrived at night and woke up to jaw dropping views of the coast. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room is very spacious and ideal to relax in after a busy day. An absolutely perfect weekend in a fantastic house! Would 100% recommend to anyone.

Half Of One Culnacnoc was easily one of the best airbnbs we have ever stayed in and we have stayed at nearly 30 properties. The hosts have truly taken every measure to make your stay extraordinary; from the telescope for seal watching to the welcome gifts of wine and chocolates, you truly cannot beat the hospitality. The view is breathtaking and the promixity to all of the landmarkets is so convenient. The verdant settings are only enhanced by the sheep doting the property (we were lucky enough to be there during lambing season!) and the walk down to the beach/Brother’s poiint is incredible. The detached studio is such a treat and the main home is enormous whilst remaining quaint and charming. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer! Thank you so much for hosting us – we’d love to return some day.
