To book your stay at Half of One choose your dates in the calendar above, fill in your details and make the payment. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your booking is successful.

Is there a maximum occupancy for the cottage?
The main house at Half of One comfortably sleeps up to 6 people. Additionally, there is a Studio next to the main house which can accommodate 2 more people, bringing the total maximum occupancy to 8 guests.
What amenities are included in my booking?
Is the track leading to the house suitable for cars?
The track leading to the house is not tarmaced, it is a farm track. The final bit of track leading to the house is farm track. This can get very wet and boggy, especially in winter. We highly advise you to bring a 4 x 4 car.
Our first time on the Isle of Skye and we are hooked. Half of One is the most wonderful house with such an interesting history. It is beautifully done and very easy to get up and running once you walk through the door. Emma (host) really has thought of everything you could possibly need. There are lots of cosy corners to hunker down in and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The views from the house and the skies are out of this world. It is also very handy for Portree. Definitely on my wish list to go again.
Half of One was truly a unique place to stay. It’s all about the view with this home and that was amazing. We also really enjoyed the easy access to hiking at Brother’s point. We used the kitchen quite a bit for our family of 6 but we also had great dining options within a 15-30 minute drive. Our family had plenty of room to spread out throughout the home and the laundry room was a huge plus.
We greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning again sometime!

Surrounded by Skye’s natural beauty and steeped in history, it made for the perfect base to explore the island. Whether we were hiking nearby trails, visiting historic sites, or simply enjoying a quiet moment looking out over the landscape, everything felt magical.

The house is wonderful and the views are just stunning. The house has everything we could possibly need, and we enjoyed every second of our time there. Emma was also super proactive and gave super clear instructions for finding the house. Super recommend!
Everything was exactly as listed and described. Navigation and check in was exactly as described and we had no trouble finding it. Keep doing what you’re doing! It is such a gem of a place!
